Spa Decor: Less is More

When you enter a spa, you don't want to be bombarded with Zen. The right color paint and a few plants are all a spa really needs. The educated spa guest will appreciate the "less is more" approach. The average consumer/spa goer "favors more minimalist, neutral color palettes— nothing vivid or bright—according to the ISPA 2004 Consumer Trends Report. Soft, incandescent track lighting on minimally decorated walls and simple window treatments also are in." Having overpowering decor will draw attention away from the treatment and the overall spa. If a customer doesn't like something it will really distract them and even give them a bad memory of the experience. Also, amenities like fruit, drinks, teas, or lotions will enhance the decor. Just an overall appearance of comfort will greatly encourage the customer to return to the spa. But over-doing it is not the answer, keeping it simple and relaxing is the key.
